Aviary Hour is a flock-and-aviary planner that runs on your device. Your birds, your zone notes, your pinned zones and your hour plans stay in local storage on the phone or tablet you installed the app on. There is no Aviary Hour account, no server holding your flock, and no advertising or analytics network watching what you tap.
Kept on your device
- Bird entries from the bird editor — names, species, tameness, sound tolerance, individual traits
- Your flock roster as shown on the Bird Flock screen
- Pinned zones and any zone notes you record
- Visit condition results and verdict breakdowns you have generated
- Hour Plan schedules, booked visiting hours, partner availability you enter, and hour journal entries
- Perch profiles, stop editor setups and handling rules
- App settings and display preferences
Never collected
- No account, sign-up, password or email address required to use the app
- No advertising identifiers and no ad networks
- No third-party analytics or behavioural tracking SDKs
- No precise or background location collection
- No contacts, photos, microphone or camera access
- No sale or sharing of personal data — there is nothing to sell
- No cross-device profile of you or your partner
Who is responsible
Aviary Hour is published by Milan Ravasz. Because the app does not transmit your flock or planning data anywhere, the publisher acts as data controller only for the limited correspondence you choose to send — for example, a support email.

What the app stores and why
Everything Aviary Hour keeps is information you typed in yourself, and it is kept for one reason: so the app can show it back to you the next time you open it.
Flock data
Each bird you add through the bird editor — its species, temperament details, tameness rating, sound tolerance and any traits you record — is written to the app's private storage area on the device. It is used to compare your birds against zone conditions on the Visit Conditions screen and to produce verdict breakdowns.
Zone and planning data
Pinned zones, hour plans, booked visiting hours, partner availability you enter manually, hour journal notes and hour summaries are stored the same way. Species guide content and zone profiles ship inside the app itself.
Infrastructure setup
Perch profiles, stop editor entries and handling rules are configuration values stored locally so the app can apply them consistently across zones.
Partner availability and other people
The Hour Plan feature lets you see your partner's availability alongside your own. Any details about another person that appear in your app are details you or they entered on this device, or that were shared with you by another means. Aviary Hour does not maintain a shared server-side calendar and does not synchronise availability between devices on your behalf. If you record someone else's schedule, please only record what they are comfortable with.
Weather and outside conditions
Where the app reflects weather or daylight conditions for a planning hour, it does so from information contained in the app or entered by you. Aviary Hour does not read your device's precise location or build a location history. If a future version of the app introduces an optional live conditions lookup, it will be clearly labelled, switched off by default, and described in an updated version of this policy before it ships.
Backups made by your operating system
If you have enabled device backup — iCloud Backup, Google backup or a local encrypted computer backup — your operating system may include Aviary Hour's stored data in that backup. That process belongs to Apple, Google or your own computer, is governed by their terms and privacy policies, and is not something the app initiates or can read. You can exclude the app from backup in your device settings.
Your control over the data
- Edit or delete a bird: remove any bird from your setup on the Bird Flock screen.
- Unpin zones: pinned zones can be removed at any time from Pinned Zones.
- Clear plans: hour bookings and journal entries can be edited or deleted individually.
- Full data reset: Settings includes a complete data restore/reset that wipes flock, zone, plan and infrastructure data from the device.
- Uninstall: removing the app deletes its local storage, subject to any OS backup you have made.
App stores and crash reports
Downloading Aviary Hour happens through Apple's App Store or Google Play. Those platforms collect their own download, purchase and aggregate performance statistics under their own privacy policies; the publisher may see anonymised, aggregated figures such as install counts or crash rates. This information is not linked to your flock and does not identify you to us. Platform-level crash diagnostics can usually be turned off in your device's privacy settings.
Support correspondence
If you email ravasz@on-projekt.com, your message, your address and anything you attach are received in an ordinary mailbox. They are used solely to answer you, kept only as long as needed for that, and never added to a marketing list. Please avoid sending sensitive personal details you do not need to share in order to describe the issue.
Children
Aviary Hour is a planning tool intended for adults responsible for their own birds. It is not directed at children, and because it collects no personal data through the app there is no children's data for the publisher to hold or delete.
Your legal rights
Under the GDPR and comparable laws you have rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection and portability. In practice these rights are exercised directly inside the app: the data is on your device, under your control, and you can view, edit, export by your own means or delete it without asking anyone. For the limited email correspondence described above, write to ravasz@on-projekt.com and the publisher will respond within one month. You may also complain to your national data protection authority.
Security
Your data is protected primarily by your device: the app stores information in its private sandbox, which the operating system isolates from other apps. Keep a device passcode or biometric lock enabled, keep your OS current, and avoid rooted or jailbroken devices, where sandbox protections can be bypassed.
Changes to this policy
If the app's data behaviour changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top revised. Material changes — anything that would send data off your device — will also be described in the release notes for the version that introduces them.
